DERBY DAY INCOMING!

BLYTH TOWN
F.C.

Blyth Town FC have been promoted after beating Newcastle Blue Star 2-1 in the Northern League Division One play off final at Blue Star's Scotswood ground.

While Blyth Town continue their impressive rise through the non league pyramid, Blyth's other top team, Blyth Spartans have suffered back to back relegations during a turbulent time for the club which has been well documented.

They now find themselves in the same division for the 2025/26 season, meaning our two biggest clubs will go head to head in the league next season.

Blyth Spartans will be hoping to find a way to halt the slide and their aim has to be an immediate return to the Northern Premier League.

Blyth Town's aim for next season may be to consolidate their position in the Northern Premier League East, but on recent form, you'd be a fool to bet against them pulling another impressive campaign out of the bag.

All of this means we'll have some mouthwatering derby games to look forward to.

Blyth Town's record attendance was 1105 in a Northumberland Senior cup game against the Spartans in the 2016/17 season. That number is likely to rise next season when the Spartans return for a league match.

So, are you green and white? or green and blue? Whoever comes out on top, we can still say "Come on BLYTH".
