Popular Blyth Club Suffers Serious Damage After Fire.
The Comrades on Wright Street was left with serious damage to it's concert room after the devastating blaze which broke out on the roof on the 4th of August.
Manager Brian Ord commenting on social media said..
"Just got back to the club and I’m devastated. We hadn’t seen the damage in the Concert room as we weren’t allowed in until now!! Our beautiful concert room is destroyed. I don’t know how to put it in words so i will just show you in pictures xxx Please remember nobody was hurt and it can all be fixed xx this could have been so much worse. Xx I’m gonna need everybody to support and help me if they can , this club doesn’t run or survive without this room being active xxxx love to all xxxx"
The other areas of the venue were left with minimal damage, meaning the bar and lounge will be open as usual from Wednesday.
Users on social media were quick to offer help with the clean up, with one user writing..
"Devastating news Brian, you work so hard for the club and always take pride in it, Blyth needs the comrades, can you give us a date and time and I am sure we will all be there to do the clean up."
If you would like to donate to help the club get back on it's feet, a GoFundMe page has been set up here.
